Position Title: Night Porter 

Position Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt 

Position Pay: $19.00 Per/Hr.

 

General Description: 

The Night Porter ensures that the technical and maintenance facility of NonStop Local KHQ operate at the highest quality within required guidelines and within the established budget. 

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:  

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   
  • Assists the Director of Technology (DoT) with ensuring that all facilities are structurally sound, mechanically operational, electrically efficient, and safe by planning, scheduling, and supervising daily and weekly maintenance activities. 
  • Provides technical assistance in the purchase of new or replacement maintenance equipment or systems by reviewing and preparing equipment specifications and advising the DoT about equipment capability and compatibility, installation requirements and costs, and potential operations and maintenance expenses.  
  • Promotes preventive maintenance as a strategy in maintaining the station and transmitter electrical, mechanical, control, and plumbing. Keeping accurate records on all equipment indicating all repairs/breakdowns, required and performed maintenance, performing spot checks of equipment to determine its working condition, and performing and/or directing periodic cleaning and servicing of tools and test equipment. 
  • Ensures the operation, maintenance, modification, service, and repair of electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and refrigeration systems to the station and assures around-the-clock responsiveness to mechanical failures or emergency situations.  
  • Ensures that facility landscapes are maintained including trees and shrubs, sprinkler systems, removal of snow from parking lots, sidewalks, Tower Mountain, and satellite roads.  Manage the inventory of business supplies and daily pickup and delivery of company mail. 
  • Assures the continued operation of the station by being available for on-call. Helps to ensure the continued success of KHQ by performing all other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Education A high school diploma or the equivalent is required. 
  • Free of alcohol and drug abuse. 
  • Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance. 

 Experience: 

  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, or other recognize commercial building trade is a plus 
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 
  • Honest, pleasant manner, and good personal hygiene. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Adheres to departmental standards and personnel policies by demonstrating professional demeanor in conduct and appearance. 
  • Follows company departmental standards and personnel policies by using good teamwork and communication skills to help identify concerns and solutions, assisting where needed to ensure a smoothly functioning department. 

 Computer Skills: 

  • Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio); Internet, Intranet
