New Patient Coordinator (Bilingual – English/Spanish Required)

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused New Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for new patients, managing the intake and scheduling process while ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience.

This position plays a critical role in coordinating patient referrals, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced clinical environment.



Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full new patient referral process from intake to scheduling
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providers, and external partners
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide excellent customer service
  • Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance, and referral information
  • Register patients in the practice management system
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
  • Schedule appointments and provide patients with visit details and instructions
  • Follow up on missing medical records and required documentation
  • Maintain and update provider schedules
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate patient care and scheduling needs
  • Accurately document and update patient records in EHR/PMS systems
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
  • Assist with resolving administrative and scheduling issues


Requirements
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) – Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of healthcare experience in patient access, scheduling, or revenue cycle (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology
  • Experience with EHR/PMS systems (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
