Job Details
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with basic network hardware installation (APs, switches, cabling, patch panels).
- Familiarity with Ethernet cabling standards and cable testing tools.
- Ability to follow technical direction and work within established procedures.
- Comfort working on ladders, in wiring closets, and in various City facilities.
- Strong attention to detail, labeling, and documentation.
- Ability to lift and move network equipment (up to ~40 lbs).
- Valid driver’s license for travel between City sites.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Exposure to Cisco networking equipment or enterprise wireless systems.
- Experience supporting infrastructure upgrade projects.
- Basic understanding of IP networking concepts.
Work Environment
- Field based work across multiple City buildings.
- Coordination with IT, Facilities, Public Safety, and other departments.
- Schedule aligned with project needs; some after hours cutovers may occur with notice.
