Network / System Engineer III

Introduction

This role involves working with a dynamic team to design, implement, and maintain network and system solutions. The position requires a strong focus on automation and scripting within a virtual environment, as well as leadership and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as a network architect or in a similar senior-level network engineering role (7 years).
• Extensive experience with network automation tools and practices.
• Strong background in designing and implementing enterprise-level network solutions.
• Proficiency in network protocols, services, and standards (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, VRF’s).
• Very strong proficiency in Python programming and Linux OS (Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
• Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) (Arista CVP, Cisco ACI).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Leadership capabilities and a proactive attitude.
• Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Advanced certifications in Networking (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE).
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL, Nautobot).
• Arista ACE Level 5 or Cisco DevNet S/P/E.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Automate repetitive tasks and workflows using Python and shell scripts within a virtual environment.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation.
• Deploy code to development, QA, Staging, and Production servers using our continuous integration and deployment pipeline platform.
• Test new services to ensure they function as expected using our testing framework and add new test cases to improve quality assurance.
• Develop and implement automation strategies for network configuration, monitoring, and management.
• Lead code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to streamline operations and processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand network requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead architectural discussions and decision-making processes related to network and automation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network architects and engineers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes.
