ECLARO’s client is a leading technology solutions provider, collaborating with customers to manage their needs and achieve success in their business goals. If you’re up to the challenge, then take a chance at this rewarding opportunity!

Position Overview:
  • The Network Security Operations Specialist is a well-rounded information security professional responsible for protecting and supporting enterprise network infrastructure through hands-on firewall administration, security operations, and network troubleshooting.
  • This role is heavily focused on Palo Alto firewalls within a Cisco-centric environment and requires an individual who can operate independently, interpret security policy intent, and execute changes without heavy oversight.

Responsibilities:
  • Firewall & Network Security Administration:
    • Configure, manage, and support Next-Generation Firewalls, with a strong emphasis on Palo Alto (Panorama, policy interpretation, configuration deployment).
    • Administer firewall policies, objects, NAT rules, threat prevention profiles, and VPN configurations.
    • Perform firewall rule reviews, optimization, and cleanup to improve security posture and performance.
    • Understand how policies are written, how packets are expected to flow, and how to troubleshoot when behavior does not match intent.
    • Deploy configuration changes across firewall platforms with confidence and accuracy.
  • Security Operations & Monitoring:
    • Monitor and analyze firewall logs, Syslogs, and security alerts using vendor tools, SIEM platforms, and packet capture utilities.
    • Investigate and remediate network-based security incidents in coordination with incident response or SOC teams.
    • Correlate security events and escalate per established procedures.
    • Ensure syslog forwarding from security platforms is properly configured and maintained (required).
  • Network Infrastructure Support:
    • Troubleshoot Layer 2 / 3 networking issues, with a strong emphasis on routing and switching fundamentals.
    • Support secure connectivity across data centers, corporate offices, and manufacturing environments.
    • Work within a primarily Cisco environment while supporting Palo Alto as the core security platform.
    • Exposure to NAC technologies is preferred.
  • Automation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Assist with security automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
    • Participate in process improvements and help modernize security operations over time.
    • While deep automation architecture expertise is not required, flexibility and willingness to learn is essential.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate documentation of firewall configurations, security procedures, and operational standards.
    • Support compliance and security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, or PCI-DSS as applicable.
    • Contribute to security hardening standards and best-practice enforcement.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5-10+ years of experience in network security, firewall engineering, or information security operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls (Panorama, policy management, log analysis).
  • Experience in Cisco-heavy environments.
  • Solid understanding of:
  • Routing and switching fundamentals.
  • Firewall policy logic and packet flow.
  • Network troubleshooting and log analysis.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with FortiGate or Juniper firewalls (future-state platforms).
  • Exposure to NAC technologies.
  • Security certifications:
    • Palo Alto Certifications
    • CCNA / CCNP
    • Security+, CISSP, or CISM
    • Automation or scripting experience (Ansible, Python, PowerShell).
  • Multilingual Capability:
    • Spanish or Japanese (Language skills may be a differentiator but will not outweigh core technical strength).
  • Key Competencies:
    • Security-driven mindset with strong attention to detail.
    • Mature, professional approach to enterprise environments.
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.
    • Willingness to learn, volunteer for new challenges, and grow with the environment.
