Basic Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of network operations principles. Network Operations Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a preference in a related field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering.
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Network Operations interns support the GD Mission Systems enterprise network by monitoring, troubleshooting, and fulfilling support requests. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on SDWAN, LAN, and/or WLAN technologies, and will have exposure to enabling technologies such as network access controls and network monitoring tools.

- Able to follow detailed task direction and instructions on tasks of limited scope using entry-level understanding of the Network Operations discipline.
- Working knowledge of network principles, practices, and mindset.
- Basic understanding of network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and routing.
- Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python or Bash, and able to write simple scripts with supervision and guidance.
- Basic understanding of network monitoring tools and platforms.
- Working knowledge of server architecture and an understanding of virtualization technologies, storage systems, enterprise security practices, and replication technologies.
- Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
