Overview
• Our client is seeking a Telecommunications Engineering Specialist Journeyman to join a high-impact program supporting the US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X). This cutting-edge program supports intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners. The successful candidate will design and define network architecture, perform complex development work, and ensure the smooth operation of critical software and systems in direct support of the warfighter.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with network staff and executive stakeholders to define business requirements, systems goals, and ensure reliable operations.
• Design and define network architecture for new or existing computer systems and perform complex network development and design work.
• Participate in upgrading operating systems and designing network enhancements.
• Develop and conduct tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve network problems while providing technical guidance and specialized training.
• Determine network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of network engineers, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
• Act as a point of escalation for technical challenges or critical incidents to ensure prompt and effective resolution.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and participate in special projects as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related Network Engineering experience.
• Associate’s degree and 7 years of experience.
• Master’s degree and 5 years of experience.
• High School Diploma or GED and 9 years of experience.
• Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Must possess a completed CCNA certification.
• Must meet DoD 8750 requirements (eligible for IAT level II access) and obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
• Comprehensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, and SCCP.
• Proficiency with current Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOS software and hardware features.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot Multicast, DMVPN, and GRE tunnels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a great attention to detail and presentation.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative, and fast-paced environment while multi-tasking effectively.
• Highly organized, results-driven, and motivated to work autonomously.
• Experience in Cisco Routing & Switching, firewall
• Exeperience in Juniper JUNOS Network Operating System.

Preferred Skills & Experience
•    JNCIA-JUNOS or JNCIS-SP certifications.
•    Knowledge and experience with VoIP/collaboration systems and HAIPE-based encryption devices.
•    Knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft, specifically VMware Data Center Virtualization concepts.
•    Experience with data center networking, firewalls, and firewall rule sets.
•    Understanding of network automation techniques and structures.
•    Experience in F5 LTM BIG-IP.
