We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer who enjoys working in a dynamic, challenging environment and wants to support large-scale enterprise IT infrastructure projects.

This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, support, and lifecycle management of enterprise network systems, with a strong focus on Cisco-based networking technologies and modern infrastructure solutions.

The ideal candidate has experience working across the full system lifecycle and is comfortable designing, troubleshooting, and supporting complex network environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, test, implement, and support LAN/WAN network solutions

  • Support enterprise network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, and load balancers

  • Provide daily operational support and resolve escalated network issues

  • Perform break/fix, upgrades, and proactive maintenance

  • Architect and support on-premise and cloud networking solutions

  • Maintain network lifecycle plans and technology roadmaps

  • Validate new technical requests against existing architecture

  • Develop architecture standards, policies, and documentation

  • Identify opportunities to automate operational tasks

  • Ensure security, compliance, and quality standards are met

  • Support software deployments, upgrades, and production changes

  • Stay current with emerging networking technologies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)

  • 6+ years of experience as a Network Engineer / Network Architect / Technical Engineer

  • Strong experience with at least 3 of the following:

    • Cisco Switches

    • Cisco Routers

    • Cisco Firewalls

    • F5 Load Balancers

    • Cisco Wireless Controllers

    • Cisco ISE / Cisco Client

    • Cisco NAC

  • 2–3 years of experience in network operations, support, or troubleshooting

  • Experience working with internal or external clients to design network solutions

  • Experience applying architecture principles and developing solution roadmaps

  • Experience managing lifecycle / replacement / upgrade projects

  • Strong communication and consultative skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scripting or Infrastructure as Code (Ansible preferred)

  • Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDA, CCT)

  • PMP, ITIL, or similar certifications

  • Experience with:

    • Cloud Services (IaaS / PaaS / SaaS)

    • Active Directory / DNS / LDAP

    • CMDB / ServiceNow

    • SolarWinds

    • Cybersecurity tools

  • Experience working in Utilities, Energy, or large enterprise environments

Work Environment

  • Hybrid role – must be local to New Jersey

  • 3 days per week onsite required

  • Work on enterprise-level infrastructure projects

  • Collaborative team environment
