About the Role
The Child Support System Enhancement Effort aims to transform existing functionality from a legacy mainframe system into an enhanced, web-based platform. This transformation is a continuation of the current enhancement effort and will improve user experience by integrating with the existing web-based application in an Agile development environment.
Join our Child Support team to transform a legacy mainframe system into a modern, web-based platform that improves usability, accessibility, and scalability. We re seeking a Senior UI/UX Developer who is passionate about human-centered design and AI-driven innovation.
You will own the UI/UX design process from wireframes and prototypes to production-ready interfaces while ensuring compliance with WCAG accessibility standards. This role combines front-end excellence, Java-based backend integration, and AI-powered development practices in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement modern, responsive UI using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue or similar.
- Replace legacy JSP screens with user-friendly, accessible interfaces.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design systems that enhance usability.
- Leverage AI tools for UI/UX optimization, automated design recommendations, and intelligent development workflows.
- Ensure seamless integration with RESTful APIs (collaborating with backend teams)
- Optimize UI for performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with backend developers and UAT teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX-focused full-stack development.
- Hands on experience using modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue or similar.
- Proven experience in human-centered design, WCAG compliance, and responsive layouts.
- Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and translate them into functional UIs.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, and cross-browser optimization.
- Familiarity with AI-driven UI/UX tools like Figma AI, Uizard, Canva AI, ChatGPT, CoPilot or similar AI tools.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD pipelines) and Agile methodologies.
