Overview
Meadow Springs Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) in Richland, WA is seeking a part-time Music Director to inspire and lead our worship through music. We are a thoughtful, vibrant congregation that values both tradition and creativity, singing, and playing together with joyful intention. Whether you lead with guitar, piano, vocals or something in between, we welcome the musical style and spirit you bring.
We embrace a liturgy that flows with energy and reverence. Our worship blends musical styles - from sacred hymns to contemporary spirituals - creating space for instrumentals like piano, guitar, and voices raised in harmony. Whether you favor organ preludes or acoustic praise, we welcome your musical voice.
Responsibilities
- Accompany the congregation during Sunday worship
- Lead and rehearse with choir and ensemble weekly
- Collaborate weekly with our pastor and team to shape worship and special services
- Participate in monthly Worship Ministry Team meetings to guide long-term direction
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Proficiency in a lead instrument such as piano or guitar (organ skills a plus but not required)
- Ability to sight-read and/or chart music for worship sets
- Comfortable directing and rehearsing vocalists and instrumentalists
- Skilled at collaborating with volunteer musicians of varying experience levels
- Familiarity with a range of Christian music - from traditional hymns to contemporary praise
- Organizational skills and a heart for thoughtful, Spirit-led worship
Job Details
- Part-time: 10 hours/week
- Pay: $23.00 to $25.00/hour (based on experience)
- Benefits include paid time off
