Title: MSSQL Database Administrator Senior
Location: Full-time, on-site (M–F) — McLean, VA or Plano, TX
Duration: Contract till Aug 14, 2026 (extension possible)

• Glider assessment on SQL and Cloud

• 10+ years of experience with Cloud and SQL
• 2+ years of experience migrating on-prem environments to AWS

• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch SQL Server instances
• Monitor performance; tune queries and optimize indexes
• Implement HA/DR solutions (Always On, Log Shipping, Replication)
• Manage backups, restores, security, users, roles, and permissions

• Assess on-prem SQL environments and define migration strategies
• Execute migrations to Azure SQL, Managed Instance, or AWS RDS
• Use tools such as DMA, Azure DMS, or equivalent
• Validate data integrity and performance post-migration
• Optimize cloud databases for cost, scalability, and performance

• Automate tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, or cloud-native tools
• Monitor and automate alerts, reports, and maintenance jobs

• Maintain detailed documentation of architecture and migrations
• Support application and development teams
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years as an MSSQL Server DBA
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Proven on-prem to cloud migration experience
• Strong skills in security, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Relevant certifications a plus

• Hybrid or multi-cloud experience
• IaC tools (ARM, Terraform)
• DevOps and CI/CD for database deployments
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other RDBMS
