The Opportunity
You will take full ownership of mold maintenance and setup operations at a premier manufacturing facility backed by over 65 years of precision plastic injection molding expertise. This global contract manufacturer serves healthcare, automotive, and industrial OEMs from locations across the United States, China, Mexico, and Europe. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will ensure every production tool is maintained, documented, and ready to run before it hits the schedule.

Your Day-to-Day
- Set up molds, automation, and related tooling on the production floor
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble molds to maintain peak production readiness
- Track full maintenance and repair history for all molds and schedule preventive maintenance cleanings
- Work from detailed design drawings, engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions
- Plan and lay out your own work, determining accurate and efficient methods to construct and repair molds
- Set up and operate tool room equipment including lathes, millers, grinders, heat treating equipment, and drill presses
- Use precision measuring instruments — calipers, dial indicators, micrometers — to verify mold and part compliance
- Select proper materials and suppliers to ensure timely, quality repairs
- Coordinate pricing and delivery with tool division partners and qualified outside vendors
- Provide realistic repair quotes and meet delivery commitments
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment
What We're Looking For
- Apprentice Graduate or 5+ years of hands-on mold maintenance experience in plastic injection molding
- Proven ability to work from complete design and engineering drawings
- Experience operating a full range of tool room equipment
- Strong skills in tracking mold repair, cleaning, and maintenance history
- Ability to work to close tolerances and self-inspect your own work
- Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift, lift up to 60 pounds, and learn to operate an electric pallet jack and crane
Shift Structure: 12-hour shifts on a rotating 3/4 day cycle. Shift placement is based on current openings.
- A Shift: Sun–Tue + every other Wed, 6AM–6PM
- B Shift: Sun–Tue + every other Wed, 6PM–6AM
- C Shift: Thu–Sat + every other Wed, 6AM–6PM
- D Shift: Thu–Sat + every other Wed, 6PM–6AM
