The Big Picture
First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem (https://fbcsb.com) is looking for full-time Minister of Students.
Requirements
Principal Function: The Minister of Students is responsible to the Lord and to the church for the development of a comprehensive program of education, evangelism, discipleship, training, and encouragement of current and prospective members of the middle school, high school, and college groups. The Minister of Students shall carefully work with parents to understand the needs of students and to help train and develop leaders in student ministries for missions, education, worship, music, evangelism, and activities.
Working Relationships
The Minister of Students will work closely with the Pastor and Director of Educational Ministries in planning and directing the education and discipleship training of middle school, high school, and college students. Minister of Students will be supervised primarily by the Pastor.
Ministerial Responsibilities
1. Prayerfully work with ministry teams to plan, implement, conduct, and improve a comprehensive education ministry for middle school, high school, and college students. Provide direction and leadership for this education ministry by coordinating and promoting Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Missions Education/Involvement, mid-week programming, and other weekday activities.
2. Organize and coordinate a balanced approach to student ministry that includes Bible study, discipleship training, evangelism, outreach, recreation, fellowship, mission action, worship, and music.
3. Enlist and train leadership in the student ministry division of all church organizations. Prayerfully work with staff and student ministry teams in enlisting and training youth workers, leaders, and participants.
4. Plan and direct all activities such as youth camp, mission trips, retreats, weekday Bible study, youth emphasis Sunday, seminars, banquets, and other special events.
5. Give limited counseling to meet the special needs of students and their parents.
6. Develop a program to meet the unique needs of the parents of students and involve them in student ministry.
7. Develop and lead a systematic program of outreach. Lead ministry leaders and students to contact, visit, and minister to members and prospects, particularly students and their families. Lead students and ministry leaders to evangelize students and their families individually and through programs, activities, and events.
8. Study available church youth program materials, equipment, supplies, and available space and make recommendations to appropriate staff, teams, committees and the church on how to best fulfill the ministry to students in all church program organizations. Similarly, keep up to date of the latest educational methods and share them with the workers. Remain informed of current trends in student ministries and student culture.
9. Develop a vision for the student ministries and propose a budget for the continued development and improvement of all aspects of the student ministries. Appropriately administer budgeted funds when approved and available. Follow church and IRS guidelines for submitting purchase orders and for managing accountable reimbursement plan for ministry expenses.
10. Prayerfully and sensitively work with student ministry leaders, teachers, parents, and appropriate staff members to understand and resolve any philosophical, procedural, or scheduling problems and conflicts in the youth ministry or between the youth ministry and any other members or ministries of the church.
11. Develop relationships with local school officials and be available to speak and/or visit in the schools.
12. Covenant to abide by and honor all policies and procedures that govern FBCSB, especially and including the FBCSB Safety Policy for Minors and the FBCSB Transportation Policy.
13. Develop a plan for systematically training of and overseeing compliance by volunteers who serve in student ministry on the FBCSB Safety Policy for Minors and the FBCSB Transportation Policy.
14. Continually develop the student ministries and programs of the church, with the pastor’s involvement, and perform other duties as assigned by the pastor or authorized staff members.

Salary and Housing Allowance $65-70k
Annuity 10% $6500-7000
Social Security Offset (6.5%) $4225-4550
