Military.com is seeking a knowledgeable freelance Military Finance Writer to contribute original, practical content that helps service members and veterans navigate financial decisions unique to military life. As a freelance writer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality articles on military-specific financial topics, including loans, deployment-friendly credit cards, insurance for service members, etc.

What We're Looking For:
  • Create content that addresses the unique financial needs and challenges faced by military members and their families
  • Research and explain complex financial products (mortgages, credit cards, insurance) from a military perspective
  • Stay current on VA benefits, military pay changes, and financial programs available to service members
  • Meet deadlines consistently and deliver polished, publication-ready articles
  • Work with editors to refine content and ensure accuracy of military-specific information
Skills We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience in financial writing, preferably with knowledge of military benefits and lifestyle
  • Strong understanding of personal finance topics including mortgages, credit cards, insurance, and loans
  • Familiarity with military life, terminology, and the unique challenges faced by service members and veterans
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to translate financial jargon into clear, actionable advice
  • Ability to write with empathy and understanding for the military community
