Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is seeking a dynamic and detail-driven Midstream Oil and Gas Project Manager to join our growing team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a unique opportunity to lead innovative energy initiatives within the energy sector, working alongside top-tier engineering professionals in a collaborative consulting environment. The role involves multi-disciplinary project work, with a strong emphasis on pipeline and facility design expertise—including trenchless technology, mechanical and civil engineering, and right-of-way pipeline development. This is a hybrid office role and can be in Raleigh or Charlotte, North Carolina, Atlanta, GA, or Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Client-Facing Communication: Present technical findings clearly and persuasively, translating complex engineering insights into actionable strategies that align with client goals.
- Interdisciplinary Leadership: Guide technical, cost, and scheduling decisions across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to company quality standards and maximizing client value.
- Team Development: Mentor and support staff, fostering professional growth and helping team members achieve career development goals.
- Innovative Problem Solving: Develop creative, practical solutions to engineering challenges, applying sound judgment and technical expertise.
- Comprehensive Project Oversight: Manage all phases of project delivery, including organization, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, financial tracking, health and safety compliance, and reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and shared understanding throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Project Leadership in Energy: Proven experience leading teams through the design, permitting, and construction phases of energy projects, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conflict Resolution & Issue Management: Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and resolve challenges both internally and externally, ensuring project continuity and stakeholder alignment.
- Virtual Team Collaboration: Effective in managing and collaborating with geographically distributed teams, leveraging remote work tools and aligning resources across locations to meet project objectives.
- Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial principles as they apply to consultant led projects, including budgeting, competitive pursuit strategies, and construction cost analysis. Capable of advising clients on the financial impacts of engineering decisions and optimizing project economics.
- Quality & Risk Management: Committed to internal quality assurance protocols and risk mitigation practices, including peer reviews and adherence to the Three-Way Agreement framework.
Education: B.S. degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is preferred; or equivalent experience and education.
Experience: 8-10 years of related experience, including 5+ years of project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required.
Certification/Registration: Certifications or registrations as mandated by profession. Must complete the project manager qualification card as part of Kleinfelder’s Project Management Qualification System (PMQS). For new hires being brought into a PM position, the PM will be given Provisional status with up to one year to complete PMQS.
Certification/Registration: Professional Engineer is required.
