Microbiology Manager
Location: Nashville, TN
Schedule: Full-Time • Days (No Weekends)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Up to $110,000 annually (based on experience)
- Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
- Performance Bonus: Up to 10% annually
- Relocation Assistance: Available (case-by-case basis)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Microbiology Manager to lead operations within a high-volume, state-of-the-art central laboratory supporting an extensive network of healthcare facilities. This leadership role is ideal for a clinical expert who excels in fast-paced environments and is committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily microbiology lab operations, staffing, and workflow efficiency
- Ensure departmental goals for quality, service, and financial performance are achieved
Team Management & Development
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing team
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure readiness and compliance with accrediting bodies such as CAP, CLIA, FDA, and CMS
- Maintain adherence to all laboratory policies, procedures, and safety standards
Quality Assurance & Improvement
- Oversee quality control programs, testing methodologies, and equipment performance
- Drive continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives
Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with clinical leadership to develop and monitor departmental metrics and standards
Communication & Engagement
- Implement effective communication strategies to keep staff informed of updates and changes
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a Microbiology Technologist (required)
- 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in microbiology (required)
- Experience in high-volume hospital or central laboratory settings (required)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry (required)
- Master’s degree (preferred)
Certification
- National certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP or equivalent) required
