Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Microbiology Manager to lead laboratory operations in a high-volume clinical setting. This role is responsible for overseeing daily lab functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving quality improvement initiatives to support accurate and timely patient care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily microbiology laboratory operations, including technical and non-technical staff
• Manage staffing, scheduling, hiring, and onboarding processes
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and staff development
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, FDA, and CMS
• Oversee quality control and quality assurance programs
• Lead accreditation readiness and regulatory inspections
• Collaborate with the Medical Director on policies, procedures, and performance metrics
• Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain effective communication across departments and leadership teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
• National Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS)
• Minimum 3+ years of recent Microbiology Technologist experience
• Experience in a high-volume hospital or central laboratory setting
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a related field
• 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Proven ability to manage teams and drive operational improvements
