Client Details

Our client is a long‑established, privately owned materials‑engineering company known for its proprietary boron‑diffusion surface treatments used in demanding aerospace and oil & gas applications.

Description

This Metallurgical Engineer will:

  • Support and develop proprietary metal‑treatment and coating processes
  • Assist with metallurgical testing, hardness evaluations, metallography, and failure analysis
  • Work directly with customers on applications, technical questions, and problem‑solving
  • Participate in new process development and continuous improvement
  • Learn and support furnace operations, process controls, and inspection methods
  • Contribute to production support, quality investigations, and workflow improvements

Profile

A successful Metallurgical Engineer should have:

  • 3-10 years of experience in metallurgy, materials engineering, heat treating, coating processes, or a materials testing lab.
  • Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Mechanical Engineering with materials‑related industry experience.
  • Hands‑on engineer who thrives in a small business, wears multiple hats, and proactively takes on new responsibilities.
  • Comfortable with metallography, hardness testing, failure analysis, or general materials characterization.
  • Experience or familiarity with furnace equipment, furnace controls, or thermal processing environments.
  • Exposure to aerospace and/or oil & gas industries is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of Inconel 718, ISO 9000, AS9100, or similar quality standards is beneficia
