What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience:
    • One year preferred.
    • One year Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Completion of NAI program, required. Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required. Medication Safety - AME, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. 
    • Completion of NAI program, required.
    • Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required.

  • Additional Skills (preferred): Basic computer skills for documentation.
What You'll Do:

The Medical Unit Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff on a fast-paced 46-bed Medical-Surgical unit. This role is responsible for managing the unit desk, coordinating communication, answering phones, greeting visitors, maintaining patient records, and supporting daily administrative operations to ensure efficient unit workflow. The receptionist works closely with nursing staff and providers to facilitate patient care and maintain a professional and welcoming environment.

 

In addition to administrative duties, this position requires flexibility to assist the clinical team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) when needed. CNA responsibilities may include supporting patient care activities such as assisting with activities of daily living, patient mobility, vital signs, and maintaining patient safety under the direction of the nursing staff.
