The Staff Pad has partnered with a growing law firm to identify a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk. This role is critical in supporting case preparation by ensuring accurate collection, management, and review of medical documentation.
The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for requesting, organizing, and maintaining medical records, billing documentation, and imaging files. This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
Submit and track requests for medical records, billing statements, and imaging/films
Review incoming records for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
Enter and maintain data in electronic databases with a high degree of accuracy
Organize and manage digital and physical files to ensure easy accessibility
Communicate with medical providers, billing departments, and internal legal teams
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
Assist with auditing records and identifying missing or incomplete documentation
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or legal support preferred
Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation standards
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
