Medical Lab Technician

In this role, you will play a crucial part in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing laboratory tests and analyses. You will work in a clinical laboratory setting, utilizing your expertise in laboratory procedures and techniques to ensure accurate and timely results. Your contributions will directly impact patient care and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Receive, identify, organize, and prioritize specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing
• Perform and report requested laboratory procedures
• Conduct quality control, proficiency testing, and routine instrument maintenance
• Maintain inventory control of laboratory supplies
• Evaluate positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical errors and adverse patient outcomes
• Complete assigned goals and testing tasks within required timelines
• Analyze, review, and report testing results accurately
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Follow standard precautions at all times
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment correctly and safely, including instrument calibration
• Work in a laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control protocols
