JOB DESCRIPTION:

The day shift position is within the Flow Cytometry and Immunology Department. In Flow Cytometry, technologists perform highly complex testing, including malignant leukocyte immunophenotyping and stem cell analysis. This role requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively within a small team. In the Immunology section, work is more independent, involving bench testing such as immunofluorescent antibody assays and autoantibody analysis using automated instrumentation. This position includes a rotating schedule for weekends and holidays.

Performs, calculates, reviews and reports laboratory diagnostic tests. Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment. Understands the clinical significance of the testing performed. Responsibilities for teaching, training, correction of procedural/instrument issues increase through the range of MLS I to MLS III.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry and current Medical Laboratory Scientist certification.  (Certification tracked by department.)

EXPERIENCE:

Meets requirements of MLS I.   Expanded knowledge of laboratory tests.

RELOCATION:

Eligible candidates will receive a relocation package of up to $6,000. Certain terms and conditions apply.
