**Job Summary:**
The Medical Director serves as a key clinical leader responsible for the oversight, administration, and operational management of clinical services at the Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. This position bridges the gap between executive strategy and day-to-day clinical care. While primarily focusing on administrative and operational leadership, the Medical Director may also see patients as needed.

**Responsibilities:**
- Operational Management: Oversees day-to-day clinical operations to ensure efficient and patient-centered workflows.
- Strategy Implementation: Partners with the CMO to translate high-level organizational goals into actionable clinical protocols.
- Policy Development: Assists in drafting and implementing clinical policies and procedures to maintain consistency within the clinical team.
- Workflow Optimization: Recommends changes to clinical workflows, technologies, and techniques to enhance standardized care and provider efficiency.
- Resource Management: Maximizes staffing, supplies, and equipment usage while upholding quality patient care standards.
- QI/QA Execution: Leads Quality Improvement initiatives and ensures adherence to clinical quality assurance standards.
- Regulatory Adherence: Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies to prepare for site visits and audits.
- Patient Safety: Advocates for patient safety, reviews incidents, and leads root-cause analysis for clinical issues.
- Outcomes Monitoring: Evaluates clinical outcomes using data and collaborates with providers to enhance performance metrics.
- Supervision: Assists in supervision, chart reviews, and performance evaluations for clinical staff.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Participates in hiring new clinical staff and leads their orientation and onboarding.
- Mentorship: Provides coaching and support for clinical staff development, addressing any performance issues as necessary.
- Scheduling: Analyzes staffing patterns to ensure adequate coverage and effectiveness.
- Representation: Represents the organization on internal committees as assigned.
- Collaboration: Works with nursing and ancillary leadership to foster a collaborative care environment.
- Partnerships: Manages relationships with external partners, referral networks, and clinical training programs.
- Regular attendance at required meetings and completion of other relevant duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**
- M.D. or D.O. license to practice in the State of New York (current and valid) or eligible for U.S. residency program.
- American Board Certification in a medical specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics preferred).
- 3-5 years of professional clinical experience, leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in community health or FQHC setting highly desirable.
- Proficiency in clinical workflows, quality standards, and electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to mentor peers, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or Health Administration (MHA).
- Experience with HRSA requirements, FQHC operations, and eClinical Works (eCW) or other EHRs.

**Physical Demands:**
Requires periods of sitting, standing, participating in meetings, working at a computer, and traveling between sites. Moderate job stress associated with personnel management and operational decision-making.

**Salary Status:**
Exempt, Salaried. Compensation: $240,000/licensed physician, or $110,000/non-licensed
