Job Details

Key responsibilities include:
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility through direct payer communication
  • Manage the full billing lifecycle, including charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up
  • Research and resolve claim denials, resubmissions, and appeals to maximize reimbursement
  • Monitor payer policy changes and assess their impact on billing operations and revenue
  • Analyze reimbursement data to identify trends, errors, denials, and opportunities for improvement
  • Generate billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle reports for internal stakeholders
  • Develop and implement billing procedures, workflows, and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, state programs, commercial payers, and HIPAA regulations
  • Conduct audits, data clean-up, and quality checks to maintain accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, to improve billing systems and workflows
  • Send invoices, track payments, follow up on late balances, and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Provide billing education and training to internal and external stakeholders as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle, or healthcare finance
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
  • Experience working with EHR and billing systems such as Epic, Kareo, Athena, eCW, Office Ally, or similar platforms
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and insurance plan structures
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in reporting, audits, and data analysis
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools
