Medical Billing Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist with a strong background in MRI billing, diagnostic imaging billing, and commercial insurance claims.

This role is ideal for a billing professional who understands payer rules, claim submission, denial management, accounts receivable (AR), and imaging reimbursement processes.

This is an on-site position in Jacksonville, FL, with eligibility to transition to remote after 90 days based on performance.

Compensation & Benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Full-cycle medical billing for MRI and diagnostic imaging services
• Submit and monitor electronic claims (EDI)
• Manage accounts receivable (AR) and aging reports
• Review and resolve claim denials and rejections
• Process appeals and corrected claims
• Ensure compliance with commercial insurance payer rules
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
• Post payments and reconcile accounts
• Maintain HIPAA compliance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience
• Direct experience with MRI billing or imaging billing
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance guidelines
• Experience working AR and denial follow-up
• Knowledge of payer rules and reimbursement policies
• High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• CPT, ICD-10, or medical coding knowledge
• Certification such as CPC, CPB, or related credential
• Experience in radiology or diagnostic imaging environments
