Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Soledad, CA 93960
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
Pay Rate: $24/hour
Responsibilities:
- Provide care under the supervision of a physician, surgeon, or podiatrist in line with CDCR policies.
- Perform both administrative and clinical duties including:
- Administer emergency BLS, injections, medications, eye/ear washes, breathing treatments, and vision tests.
- Collect blood and lab specimens; measure vitals; perform point-of-care testing.
- Remove casts/splints/sutures, change dressings, and demonstrate medical appliance use.
- Assist providers during exams and treatments; prepare patients and exam rooms.
- Document medical history, symptoms, test results, and maintain records.
- Educate and communicate with patients/youth, including those with disabilities.
- Ensure infection control, patient safety, confidentiality, and proper handling of personal property.
- Identify/report security breaches or unusual behavior.
- Handle scheduling, inventory, and clinic supply management.
- 12 months of relevant experience within the last 3 years (internship not counted).
- Valid Medical Assistant Certificate (approved by CA Medical Board).
- Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross with AED).
- Completion of competency validation per Title 22 before starting duties.
- Proficient in English (oral, written, and comprehension).
