Salary starting at $18.00/hr. Pay will be adjusted based on knowledge and experience.
Essential Functions:
*Clinical duties include taking medical histories, recording vital signs,preparing patients and exam rooms, assisting the physician during examinations, and verifying charts for accuracy and completeness.
*Perform routine administrative and clinical task. Assist patients through the checkout process.
*Prepares schedule for upcoming appointments and confirms appointments with patients.
*Typing and communication skills required.
*Instruct patients on medications and review medication list assuring they are current and accurate.
*Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by physician.
*Acts on behalf of the provider to authorize medication refills as directed. Sends prescription information to the pharmacy electronically or via telephone.
*Obtains necessary authorizations for medications, diagnostic studies and referrals for carriers.
*Clean and sterilize equipment and dipose of contaminated supplies or biohazard waste in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
*Provides patient education as directed by the provider and maintains educational material invetory.
