Advanced Specialty Care, P.C. is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our collaborative team of cosmetic and plastic surgery providers and clinical staff. On-the-job training!
Objectives:
Objectives:
- The Medical Assistant will be responsible for documenting accurate and detailed information about patient visits.
- The ideal candidate will provide patients with the highest quality of customer service and adhere to practice protocols and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompanies physician during consultation and examination, transcribes physical exam details per physical instruction utilizing medical terminology and documentation guidelines within the electronic health record.
- Completes all necessary documentation of the patient encounter in the medical chart including entering orders as the physician dictates.
- Room patients, medication reconciliation, assist with minor procedures, patient education, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior Plastic Surgery and/or scribing experience is preferred.
- Must be proficient in typing/data entry and good at spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication.
- Able to listen to complex medical information and summarize in a clear, complete, and concise fashion with the ability to multitask.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports. Translate medical abbreviations into their expanded forms.
- Physical Demands - regularly required to stand; sit; walk; and use hands to type.
- Must have a high level of professionalism and maturity.
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Skills:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, meticulous.
- Ability to multitask.
- Use of computers and software programs.
Requirements:
- Travel is required between satellite offices. (Danbury, Ridgefield, New Milford & Norwalk)
- Flexible work schedule.
- Electronic Health Records experience.
Work Schedule:
- Full Time- 32-36 hours/week; schedule is based on department needs.
Compensation:
- Salary based on experience.
- Bonus offered: $1,000 after 6 months of employment; $1,000 after one year of employment.
