Medical Assistant

Location: McKinney, TX

Role Overview

The Medical Assistant supports daily clinical operations by assisting providers, preparing patients for exams, performing basic clinical tasks, and ensuring a safe, organized environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver excellent patient service in a fast‑paced care setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all duties within the Medical Assistant scope of practice under provider supervision

• Room patients, prepare them for examinations, and document clinical information accurately

• Assist with diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, specimen collection, wound care, and medication administration (non‑IV)

• Operate and perform quality checks on diagnostic equipment

• Prepare and sterilize instruments using an autoclave

• Support patient care coordination following provider instructions and organizational policies

• Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and follow infection control standards

• Conduct intake‑only phone and in‑person screenings

• Protect patient confidentiality and deliver high‑quality customer service

• Complete required training and follow all safety and compliance policies

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification, or ability to obtain within 180 days

• Current BLS certification (AHA or Military Training Network) at hire or within 30 days

• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations

• Strong communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of Medical Assistant experience

• Bilingual in Spanish

• Excellent attendance and punctuality
