Perfect for someone looking for practical experience working with physician and Nurse Practitioners. Responsibilities include: Key Responsibilities As a Medical Assistant, you will be crucial in both the clinical and administrative flow of the practice: - Patient Triage & Intake: Accurately measure and record vital signs and ensure timely, precise documentation in the EHR system. -Essential Clinical Skills: Perform phlebotomy (blood draws) efficiently and accurately, and collect/process other lab specimens. -Clinical Support: Assist the physician during examinations, minor procedures, and medication administration (as permitted). -Communication Hub: Facilitate clear, effective communication between patients, providers, and other healthcare professionals. -Clinical Environment Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked clinical space, strictly adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. -Administrative Tasks: Manage critical front and back-office duties, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and documentation. -Provide basic life support as needed. Qualifications & Requirements -Certification Required: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification (e.g., Registered Medical Assistant - RMA). -Mandatory Skill: Proven competency in performing phlebotomy and collecting/handling lab specimens. -Proven proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic life support techniques. -Strong knowledge of medical terminology and prior experience with EHR systems. -Exceptional patient service and professional communication skills (written and verbal). -A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a small team environment. Highly Desirable: Prior clinical experience, especially knowledge of Internal Medicine practices.
