We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a full time Medicaid Billing Assistant position in the Beaumont area.
Job Description:
Primarily responsible for running weekly payment reports. Uploads copy to iHarbor, logs totals on deposit spreadsheet and distributes reports to correct biller for posting. Reviews daily Change of Status (COS) forms for new Medicaid and Room & Board admissions; logs new admissions/changes on Medicaid Incident Report for tracking and maintains file of COS forms for specified amount of time. Works in conjunction with the Billers and the Office Coordinators at the sites to track and obtain needed Medicaid forms. Keys in forms online using the correct State portal and provides copies to nursing facility business office (if applicable) via email or fax. Calls new nursing homes to obtain contact information, Medicaid contract number, and W9 forms; uploads W9 forms to file on iHarbor and pulls current year’s rate sheet for Texas nursing homes for distribution to correct biller. Will complete administrative tasks as assigned to support and assist the Hospice Medicaid Billing Team. Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Takes direction well and is able to adapt to meet departmental deadlines and goals
- Willingness to work well with other staff members both on site and in the field offices
- Commitment to customer service and the ability to remain professional when communicating with various outside entities such as nursing homes, hospitals, insurance companies, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally via email and on the phone
- Experienced with Micro Soft Word and Excel
- Ability to multitask
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Clean background and drug screen
