We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Rolling Stock Supervisor who brings strong technical ability, problem-solving skills, and leadership qualities.

What You'll Do:
Supervise and coordinate work activities in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery, equipment and components in a passenger rail maintenance facility; direct workers mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment to conform to Talgo standards; enforce company policies; identify, follow, and enforce safety regulations in accordance with FRA, OSHA, EPA, FDA, WISHA, Talgo and Amtrak standards; adjust work procedures and staffing levels to meet maintenance schedules; initiate and implement plans to motivate workers to achieve maintenance goals; ensure back shop processes are properly completed & documented (wheel bearing pressing, wheel assembly & disassembly, etc.); provide training courses related to mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulic systems; train Electrical Technicians to maintain and advance technical proficiency; maintains FRA certifications and sign official documents; provide feedback on budgetary related shop issues; recommend improvements to maintenance and repair methods, equipment performance and product quality; monitor mechanical equipment parts and supply, and tools; function as the technical expert on mechanical systems; coordinate with other supervisors; act as Supervisor In Charge when assigned, coordinating daily activities with the Amtrak General Foreman; manage nightly activities and priorities to ensure on time train departure and compliance with Rules & Regulations; represent Talgo in technical meetings/reports with customers; use business and work order management software; calibrate/verify Rolling Stock wheel parameters measuring equipment; supervise five employees; carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Talgo policies, state and federal regulatory standards; interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance, reward and discipline personnel; address complaints and resolve problems; assume overall management responsibility for the entire maintenance facility in the absence of the Maintenance Manager and Assistant Maintenance Manager.
What We're Looking For:
Associate’s Degree Manufacturing Management, industrial, mechanical engineering/technology, or similar manufacturing/engineering discipline & 12 mo. exp. in mechanical engineering or maintenance or related and supervisory experience. Must have knowledge of tools, equipment and material common to mechanical trade, maintain FRA certification, including 218 Mechanical Department Operating Practices, Single Car Test, Transport Canada Locomotive, Transport Canada Car, Tier 1 Equipment, daily inspections and periodic & preventative maintenance interventions.
Physical and Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Frequently required to stand, walk and perform manual tasks
Occasionally required to kneel, stoop, or climb
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
