We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to help design, develop, fabricate, and test industry-leading radar and multi-sensor technology as a part of an innovative product development team. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical design/assembly, and the ability to identify and solve complex issues. Some travel will be required to support customer/demo events and to work across different business sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and assembly of electro-mechanical systems for radar and multi-sensor products using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
- Create and modify mechanical components and assemblies utilizing machined parts, sheet metal, and additive manufacturing (3D printing).
- Build, integrate, and test prototype hardware and multi-module systems in a lab and field environment.
- Perform diagnostic testing and troubleshooting of mechanical and basic electrical issues in integrated systems.
- Assist in developing and maintaining assembly procedures, wiring documentation, and build instructions.
- Support component selection, inventory tracking, and procurement for prototypes and test systems.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, and systems engineers to resolve integration challenges.
- Participate in product testing, customer demonstrations, and field deployments, including limited travel.
- Contribute creative and practical solutions to open-ended engineering problems in a fast-paced development environment.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient lab and fabrication workspace.
Required Skills and Experience:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance in the future.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
1–3years of professional experience, including internships, co-ops, or hands-on academic projects.
Experience with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and the ability to create and interpret mechanical drawings.
Experience in creating part drawings following Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
Hands-on experience using shop and lab tools (e.g., drills, saws, hand tools, multimeters, soldering iron).
Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques.
Basic proficiency in electro-mechanical assembly, including wiring, soldering, and component-level troubleshooting.
Understanding ofmechanical tolerances, fasteners, materials, and assembly best practices.
Experience with or exposure to diagnostic testing tools and methods for hardware systems.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a cross-functional, distributed engineering team.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
