Mechanical Engineer

Required qualifications:
· BS degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering discipline.
· Minimum 5 years of professional experience in engineering of automated / semi-automated
semiconductor processing equipment and vacuum processing equipment / process gas flow analysis.
· Experienced in design compliance with SEMI, CE, UL, and other international standards.
· Experienced with machine design at the systems level and component level.
· Experience with process equipment utilizing liquids.
· Experience designing for component fabrication using the following techniques:
o 2.5 & 3+ axis CNC machining (including lathe)
o 3D printed parts (FDM, Resin, SLS)
o Sheet metal fabrication (ex: SendCutSend)
· CAD experience designing detailed process systems including 3D models and assembly drawings of components, systems, process flows, material flows, etc. in SolidWorks.
· Demonstrated experience developing functional and reliable designs on a timely basis with strong communication skills with vendors for sourcing components and cost-effective fabrication.
· Comprehensive understanding of product structure, documentation, communication, and management.
· Demonstrated experience with internal and customer-facing presentation of design concepts and progress.
Nice to have qualifications:
· Cleanroom experience.
· Experience with modeling software (FEA) for systems, processes, and materials.
· Product/application development experience in the microelectronics industry.
· Technical sales of high end, modular, purpose-built equipment for the microelectronics industry.
· Comfortable in start-up, small business, limited resource business environment.
· Experience with publishing and presenting research work, and an understanding of its use in marketing.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical engineering activities including CAD modeling (SolidWorks), build and manufacturing support, vendor interface, technical sales and customer support, and application-specific demonstrations of equipment capabilities. The position will report to the company Product Development Manager
The Mechanical Engineer role is a major contributor in development efforts designing process equipment systems and components used in a variety of semiconductor applications.
