Our client, an innovative leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of the Advanced Hardware Engineering department supporting the development and deployment of cutting-edge autonomous vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Sustaining Infotainment

Location: Foster City, CA

Pay Range: $73 per hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

  • Design and develop complex electromechanical assemblies for automotive infotainment and interior sensing systems.
  • Manage design validation and production validation activities to ensure system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including suppliers, manufacturing, and quality assurance to meet project goals.
  • Support manufacturing ramp-up by maintaining BOMs, documenting processes, and ensuring quality standards.
  • Coordinate technical supplier management and oversee the integration of electromechanical components into vehicle platforms.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of industry experience, preferably within the automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD design, with experience in Catia V5/V6 preferred.
  • Experience designing electronic modules and managing engineering requirements in an automotive context.
  • Knowledge of packaging, structural, thermal, and reliability challenges associated with electromechanical systems.
