We are on the lookout for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to spearhead design initiatives within our power distribution sector. This role demands a creative mind to conceive distinctive mechanical solutions that align with industry norms and manufacturing specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Guide mechanical design projects for systems such as switchgear and power distribution.
- Craft intricate 3D models, assemblies, and precise manufacturing blueprints.
- Establish and manage design standards and component repositories.
- Execute structural, thermal, and mechanical analyses.
- Champion adherence to UL and NEMA standards.

Technical Excellence:

- Design sophisticated enclosures and assemblies.
- Enhance designs for optimal manufacturing and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with electrical teams for seamless integration.
- Evaluate and validate technical designs and documentation.
- Assist in prototype development and evaluation.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

- Offer mentorship to junior engineers, providing expertise and guidance.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with various departments.
- Propel advancements in design procedures and product innovation.
- Aid manufacturing teams in implementing design changes and improvements.
- Engage with suppliers for selecting and qualifying components.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5-8 years of experience with power distribution equipment design.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor).
- Thorough understanding of UL and NEMA standards.
- Expertise in sheet metal design and manufacturing.
- Understanding of thermal and structural design principles.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong project management and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems.
- Experience with FEA analysis software.
- Proficiency in custom engineering and ETO products.
- Background in data center equipment design.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and DFM principles.
- Acquaintance with seismic design needs.
- Awareness of IP/NEMA ratings and environmental factors.
