Introduction

Join our Advanced Hardware Engineering team and play a pivotal role in designing and launching systems that integrate infotainment and interior sensing components onto our autonomous vehicle platform.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of industry experience; automotive experience preferred
  • 3D CAD design experience; Catia V5/V6 preferred
  • Experience designing electronic modules in an automotive context
  • Experience uncovering and solving packaging, structural, thermal, and reliability challenges
  • Experience managing engineering requirements and validation in an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) system
  • Experience with die cast, injection molded, and sheet metal parts
  • Knowledge of automotive sensing modalities, electromechanical behaviors, and integration challenges
  • Experience building products and assemblies through their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to production ramp
  • Prior work experience in the automotive industry
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • General aptitude with machining, 3D printing, hand tools, electronics
  • Experience managing an international supply chain with onsite workshops and build audits
  • Experience with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems, audio design, and camera design
  • A track-record of successful launches of high volume electronics products
  • Experience managing external suppliers (T1s and CMs)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design electromechanical assemblies balancing requirements from multiple stakeholders
  • Manage design and development activities for multiple internal and external suppliers
  • Manage the design validation and production validation of your systems
  • Support test engineering, supplier quality engineering, and supplier teams in test design, failure analysis, and quality management
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and quality personnel to ramp production processes and meet build objectives
  • Maintain BOMs, document and approve build processes, and support quality and cost engineering throughout the supply chain of your assemblies
