Mechanical Design Engineer

Location:Santa Clara (Fully Onsite)
Client:Arista Networks
Duration: Multi-Year Contract
Rate: $60–$65/hr C2C | $50/hr W2

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Infrastructure Design team supporting manufacturing and new product introduction. This role focuses on the design and development of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions used in high-volume hardware production.

The ideal candidate will have strong 3D CAD expertise (Creo / Pro-Engineer) and experience working in networking hardware or semiconductor manufacturing environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom tooling, test fixtures, and jigs for manufacturing operations.

  • Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and detailed documentation using Creo/Pro-Engineer.

  • Support high-volume manufacturing processes and product builds.

  • Collaborate with hardware engineering, platform design, reliability, and test teams.

  • Participate in design reviews and ensure DFM/DFA best practices.

  • Work with contract manufacturers and vendors from prototype through production.

  • Select appropriate fabrication methods including CNC machining, injection molding, and sheet metal.

  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis for mechanical assemblies.

  • Manage BOMs, ECOs, and revisions through PLM systems.


Required Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5–7+ years of mechanical design experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Creo / Pro-Engineer (3D CAD).

  • Experience designing tooling, fixtures, and jigs for manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of DFM / DFA principles.

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.

  • Understanding of fabrication methods such as CNC, injection molding, and sheet metal.

  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Ability to collaborate with contract manufacturers and support production builds.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing liquid cooling or thermal solutions.

  • Experience with Agile PLM or Windchill PDMLink.

  • Basic Python scripting for automation.

  • Experience working at networking or semiconductor companies such as Cisco, Juniper Networks, Lam Research, or Applied Materials.
