Mechanical Design Engineer - Electronics Manufacturing - Base Salary to 80k/year - Middletown, PA

• Our client, who has been servicing all branches of the U.S. Military for over 40 years, is seeking an Electronics Test Technician to join their team. Renowned for their adherence to reliability and environmental standards across industries, particularly in aerospace, this employee-owned company stands out for its commitment to excellence.
  
• The Mechanical Design Engineer will join the CAD department to develop complex electronic equipment that meets customer specifications, interface with customers on requirements and technical proposals, verify performance through testing and analysis, and focus on mechanical and thermal analysis including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), thermal chamber testing, and packaging design, with experience in AutoCAD Inventor considered a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes customer and internal information in the form of electrical and mechanical specifications and sketches to determine critical factors affecting designs.
  
• Performs mechanical and thermal analysis using industry standard software to determine if product will meet product requirements and specifications.
  
• Prepares complete mechanical and assembly documents in accordance with ACT procedures and industry standards for manufacturing.
  
• Coordinates and performs lab testing using thermal chamber or other common equipment to obtain and analyze test results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience and education.
  
• 2+ years’ experience with packaging design and mechanical and environmental testing preferred.
  
• Experience with thermal and mechanical Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools, e.g.
  
• Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics software.
  
• A working knowledge of ASME 14.5: Dimensioning and Tolerance
  
• Strong computer skills in AutoCAD Design Suite (Inventor), Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word) and ERP systems
