Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing firm, and we are recruiting for a Master Scheduler (Nuclear Construction) to support a leading clean energy organization advancing next-generation small modular reactor (SMR) technology.

This is a 40-hour/week staff augmentation contract expected to last through the end of 2026 . This role is based out of the Houston, TX office located in the Galleria Towers.

Location: Local or Regional Candidates highly preferred

W2 Compensation: $100 - $120/hour ( commensurate with experience)
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required
Eligibility: Must be eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810

Position Summary

This role works in close coordination with the Portfolio Integration Manager, the Director, SMR Product Development, Supply Chain Planners, and Commercial Project Directors to ensure that ongoing product development activities are fully integrated with customer delivery plans via an integrated master schedule. The integrated schedule will inform ongoing project execution, task prioritization, future project planning, cross-project interfaces, what-if scenarios, and long-term resource planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document a comprehensive and scalable resource management program for our client’s portfolio of projects, the output of which will include resource plans and periodic reporting.
  • Support Project Directors and Project Managers during the project planning and execution phases to understand current portfolio resource loading and communicate project resource demands to the organization.
  • Translate high-level potential future projects and change orders into forward looking resource demand forecasts to inform the organization.
  • Develop tools and standards to provide visual representation of resource needs by organization, discipline, skills, etc. Provide training to work planning and execution leads and project controls teams.
  • Issue periodic portfolio reporting and resource forecasting based on inputs from human resources, work planning and execution leads, and project teams.
  • Lead periodic reviews of resource status (supply vs demand) by functional area. Identify and resolve issues in coordination with functional managers.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Project Controls staff, and performing organizations to create, update, and maintain the Resource Management Plans for major projects.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, or Business Administration is required.
  • 8+ years of full-time working experience in a project planning and scheduling role for large projects ($100M+) is required.
  • Expertise in Planning, Scheduling, Last Planner, Primavera P6 (mandatory) including EVM, logic revision, man-loading and histograms, resource curves, budget man-hour spreadsheets.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills with an emphasis on coordinating conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Strong technical writing skills. 
  • Good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex programs/projects with multiple work phases.
  • Ability to pass nuclear industry drug/background check.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) PMP certification (or equivalent).
  • Advanced experience supporting plant or major construction management.
  • Demonstrated success building consensus across cross-functional technical teams.
