Links Technology is seeking a driven and skilled Mass Properties Engineer to join our client's team. Our client is a leading aerospace and defense firm, renowned for delivering customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations. The contract is for 12 months+, with potential for extension.

Responsibilities of the Mass Properties Engineer:
  • As a Mass Properties Engineer III, you will lead complex mass properties projects, providing technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • You will play a critical role in ensuring the success of aerospace systems by delivering accurate and reliable mass properties data.
  • Lead the calculation and analysis of mass properties for advanced aerospace systems.
  • Develop and validate mass properties models and simulations.
  • Inventory and weigh aircraft.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Review and approve mass properties documentation and reports.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
  • Manage project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate mass properties into broader project goals.

Qualifications of the Technical Trainer:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
  • General knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Exposure to Computer Aided Engineering tools.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • May require lifting up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Work in an office, lab, hangar, or hybrid environment.
  • May be required to occasionally climb stairs or ladders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.
