Improves competitive position by contributing research and analyses for strategic decision-making.
Duties:
* Exploits market potential by researching size and location of markets, industry sales forecasts, current and potential customer requirements, competitor account capture potential, product pricing, and advertising results.
* Improves distribution system by researching total business demand, territory size and configuration, service capacity, distributor experience, location of distributors, transportation means, time, and costs, customers, and potential customers.
* Identifies competitors by collecting competitor financial status, market position, share of market, product and service announcements; production and distribution strategies, and advertising campaigns.
* Develops competitive information sources by developing in-house contact sources; preparing market intelligence gathering guidelines and techniques; advising staff.
* Provides market competition information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in trade shows and educational opportunities; reading trade and professional publications; maintaining personal benchmark networks; participating in professional organizations.
* Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
