Venture Dynamics is seeking skilled Marine Electricians to install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and communication systems aboard Navy and commercial vessels. The Marine Electrician supports ship repair, modernization, and system renewal work through cable installation, termination, equipment installation, and electrical testing in active shipyard environments. This role requires independent work in accordance with marine, NAVSEA, and OSHA Maritime electrical standards.


Per diem may be available depending on contract requirements and travel distance.

Responsibilities


  • Install, repair, and maintain shipboard electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, motors, panels, controllers, and auxiliary equipment
  • Pull, route, hang, and secure electrical and communication cabling through passageways, overheads, bulkheads, and machinery spaces
  • Terminate power and communication cables using approved lugs, connectors, and shipboard standards
  • Install, pack, and seal multi-cable transits (MCTs) and cable penetrations
  • Support installation and testing of power, lighting, alarm, and interior communication systems including 1MC and sound-powered phone circuits
  • Perform continuity, polarity, insulation resistance, and operational testing
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of marine or ship repair electrical experience
  • Strong ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and shipboard documentation
  • Proficiency in cable pulling, termination, splicing, MCT packing, and equipment installation
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC systems, ship service power distribution, grounding, and bonding
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters and insulation resistance testers
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required base access credentials, including DBIDS
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing per customer requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working aboard Navy vessels or to NAVSEA electrical standards
  • Familiarity with shipboard power distribution, alarm, and interior communication systems
  • OSHA 10 Maritime certification
  • Experience supporting availability-level ship repair or modernization projects

Additional Information

Work is performed aboard vessels, in dry docks, and in industrial shipyard environments supporting Navy and commercial ship repair operations. Duties require working in confined and elevated spaces including machinery spaces, overhead areas, and cableways. Exposure to industrial noise, energized systems, heat, and mechanical hazards is expected. PPE is required in accordance with site safety policies, and respiratory protection may be required based on task or location. Work schedules may include overtime, nights, weekends, and variable shifts depending on production requirements.
