Job Title: Manufacturing Technician – Blanchard Technician
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Technician – Blanchard Technician will support optical inspection, testing, alignment, and mechanical assembly activities in an electronics manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on experience with optical components, laser systems, and precision measurement equipment, along with strong teamwork and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mechanical and optical measuring equipment such as oscilloscopes, autocollimators, and related test systems
- Use computer-automated test systems and accurately enter test results
- Perform laser alignment and testing using laser alignment systems
- Assemble mechanical components using hand tools and mechanical fixturing
- Work with optical components including lenses, mirrors, and prisms
- Clean and inspect optical components and assemblies using approved solvents
- Operate and work with interferometers, laser rails, and optical CMMs
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in optical inspection of plano optics, including prisms and ROMs, within an electronics manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) programs
- Ability to assist in developing optical assembly processes and provide feedback to engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with laser test and alignment systems
- Experience operating optical test systems
- Strong understanding of basic optics technology
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Very good hand-to-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal work instructions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate mathematical skills, including basic math and geometry
- Adequate visual acuity for optical inspection (color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment)
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
