Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Lab Assistant is responsible for assisting Manufacturing Technologists and Manufacturing Techs in VMRD product manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows all policies, protocols, and SOPs
• Packages and labels products
• Prepares lab reagents
• Performs autoclaving and dishwashing
• Adheres to aseptic technique
• Maintains up-to-date records of work performed
• Calibrates, operates, and maintains equipment
• Initiates document changes and develops new documentation
• Performs compounding-making buffers, sterile filtration, making dilutions, making pools, making aliquots

Advanced:

• Reads subjectively interpreted assays (RID)
• Performs protein evaluation – BCA quantitation, spectrophotometric analysis
• Performs protein conjugation – FITC
• Runs assays – IFA, AGID, ELISA, RID
• Performs other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications and Experiences:

• Experience working in a laboratory environment

Education, Licenses and Certifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• BS candidate in microbiology, biology or related field preferred

Physical Requirements for the Job:

• Must be able to move 50lbs
• Must be able to stand in a stationary position 50% of the time

Pay Range Data:

• The starting rate for this position is $18.00 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by job responsibility and regional benchmarks. The wage listed is just one component of VMRD's total compensation package for employees.
