Overview
A growing advanced manufacturing organization in the Phoenix area is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Controls to support the transition of new technologies from development into full production. This role works closely with operations and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and strengthen product quality while supporting electrical systems testing and production readiness.
This position combines hands on manufacturing engineering, controls support, and cross functional collaboration with product development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Engineering
- Support the transition of new products and technologies into production environments
- Partner with Operations and Product Development teams to improve manufacturability and process efficiency
- Develop and maintain work instructions and manufacturing documentation
- Identify and lead cost reduction initiatives related to materials, labor, and process improvements
- Lead quality improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
Controls & Electrical Testing
- Test electrical equipment functionality using system diagrams and defined test parameters
- Support firmware and electrical testing based on specifications from electrical and software engineers
- Assist in developing conceptual designs for internal test equipment using block diagrams, circuit schematics, and prototype boards
Technical & Project Support
- Review electrical schematics and support the creation of bills of materials
- Source and coordinate procurement of electrical components from vendors
- Assist with assembly and testing of electrical systems and prototypes
- Travel periodically to field sites to support troubleshooting, commissioning, retrofitting, and technical support activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a product-based manufacturing environment
- Experience with electronic or electrical product assembly processes and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Project management experience and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Self-starter who can identify problems and drive solutions
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across engineering and operations teams
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Phoenix area
Preferred
- Experience working with renewable energy or solar technologies
- Experience supporting field commissioning or equipment troubleshooting
