JOB DESCRIPTION
What you'll do
- Generate, maintain, and verify Bluelight programs utilizing Zeiss Inspect 3D software
- Provide 3D analysis support to M.E. (Manufacturing Engineer) and provide operator training for new processes or process improvements.
- Provide daily operator support in the form of 3D scanning and troubleshooting support to the shop floor.
- Develop and maintain workstation instructions (methods) for machines performing 3D scanning.
- Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost related to 3D scanning processes.
- Provide effective communication to appropriate team members when needed.
- Work effectively as an individual and in a team-based environment in a matrixed organization.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive change inside and outside the organization when appropriate.
What you'll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or Machinist Apprentice graduate with 3 years of experience in dimensional inspection [OR] High School Degree w/6 years of experience in dimensional inspection.
- 3+ years experience Zeiss Inspect and Airfoil (GOM) software
What will make you stand out
- Demonstrated proficiency interpreting drawing requirements with a strong GD&T knowledge. (ASME Y14.5M 2009)
- Demonstrated proficiency programming and running 3D scanning equipment manual and automation
- Exposure to point cloud processing and mesh generation
- Understanding of data analysis and report generation for inspection results
- Familiarity with robotic integration for automated inspection
- Demonstrated ability to work with solid models (preferably NX 1965/2206/2412)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science
- PC-DMIS CMM programming software experience a plus
- VXelements, Control X, Geomagic, Creaform experience a plus
- VBA, Python, or similar programming experience
- Strong problem solving and organization skills, with above average shop math skills in geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to multi-task and productively manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Experience with HDGT or Aerospace components
- Possible coverage and support for off-shifts or swing shifts
