Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in Lafayette, IN. This is a long-term position (12 months) that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $38/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations within a large-scale engine assembly environment. This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, supporting daily production needs, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and cost objectives. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, implement engineering changes, and enhance equipment and process reliability. This position offers hands-on experience in a high-demand production environment with exposure to advanced manufacturing systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide daily engineering support for production, including safety, quality, cost, and environmental compliance
• Identify and implement process improvements and equipment modifications to enhance manufacturing performance
• Monitor equipment and process reliability, troubleshoot issues, and drive corrective actions
• Analyze engineering change notices and implement part and process updates
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and engineering to support operations
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar production support role
• Experience supporting manufacturing processes, equipment, and factory systems
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in a team-based environment
• Ability to analyze problems, make decisions, and deliver results with a sense of urgency
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in engine manufacturing or heavy equipment environments
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Exposure to collaborative automation, robotics, or process automation
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a production setting
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems, process monitoring tools, and engineering change processes
