Major/Essential Functions
- Champion a Values-Based Culture: Embody TTUHSC's ethos through exemplary attendance, collaboration, and courteous service—setting the tone for a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Coordinate Library Services and Operations: Partner with the Executive Director to oversee general services across all three campuses, emphasizing the identification and piloting of new service models to enhance user engagement and institutional relevance; demonstrate strong organizational and personnel skills.
- Lead Innovative Digital Initiatives: Drive the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, such as AI-driven research tools, virtual reality learning environments, data management services, and open access platforms, to create new opportunities and adapt to evolving health sciences needs; position libraries as leaders in innovation through enhanced accessibility, research productivity, and user satisfaction.
- Monitor Library Facilities: Ensure safe, comfortable spaces for students, faculty, staff, and the public; assess and integrate flexible areas for collaborative and innovative activities; and maintain facilities to support educational goals.
- Evaluate Community Information Needs: Monitor and respond to TTUHSC's evolving needs, including trends in health sciences research and education, to inform adaptive strategies that support institutional research and educational objectives.
- Prepare and Submit Reports: Efficiently compile and deliver internal and external reports on library organization, resources, funding, and staffing.
- Manage Outreach and Contracts: Direct the development, marketing, and updating of library services contracts across West Texas, incorporating new partnerships aligned with priorities; coordinate ongoing outreach to populations across the 108-county service area; and expand marketing of resources to the HSC community.
- Handle Budget Preparation: Collaborate with the Executive Director to prepare and submit budgets, ensuring adequate support for services, staffing, and resources.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library or information science program
- At least seven (7) years of experience in library management, including three (3) years in a health sciences or academic library setting with demonstrated leadership in operational oversight, staff supervision, and service development.
- Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) certification from the Medical Library Association.
- In-depth knowledge of health sciences library practices, including evidence-based information services, research data management, and open access initiatives.
- Experience managing cross-campus or multi-site library operations and implementing innovative programs to support research, education, and clinical needs in a health sciences environment.
- Familiarity with emerging digital technologies relevant to health sciences libraries, such as AI-driven research tools, data visualization platforms, virtual collaboration environments, and digital preservation standards.
