What you’ll need to succeed as a Facilities Maintenance Manager at XPO

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 4 years of facilities maintenance management experience
  • Prior experience with a centralized vendor management model
  • Familiar with facilities maintenance trades including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Roofing, Asphalt/Concrete and Lighting
  • Experience using CMMS systems (i.e., Service Channel)
  • The aptitude to perform semi-complex mathematical operations
  • Self-starter with a strong proactive orientation
  • Matrixed thinker with a focus on optimizing overall cost outcomes
  • Strong communicator with an exceptional customer service mindset

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience with multiple manufacturers’ equipment
  • Prior preventative maintenance experience

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Manage the maintenance and repair program for a Region of the LTL network
  • Manage relationships with key facilities maintenance vendors and contractors, including the coordinaton of competitive bids for capital repairs and negotiation of vendor proposals
  • Initiate, monitor and progress all purchase orders, work orders and invoices for assigned facilities, including but not limited toplumbing systems, electrical systems, lighting (interior and exterior), HVAC systems, asphalt yards and parking lots
  • Schedule the preventive maintenance and repairs of all facility and operations equipment in a timely fashion
  • Communicate with service center leaders regarding ongoing projects and current status
  • Collect and manage maintenance records
  • Use data to help improve decision-making and work to become more predictive
  • Provide the highest level of customer service and be a technical resource for service center leaders
  • Oversee contractor services and quotations with a focus root cause solutions and optimizing overall cost outcomes
  • Manage the contractor network for your assigned region. Conduct quarterly performance reviews with vendors and look to constantly improve service levels
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize efficiently

 

Facilities Maintenance Managers are required to:

  • Lift objects of various shapes and sizes to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Stand, sit or walk for long periods 
  • Walk, reach (including above your head) and climb
  • Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull 
  • Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
  • Participate in quarterly travel to service centers within assigned coverage region
